Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman is the Distinguished Professor of Psychology as well as Director of the Center for Public Policy Research at the University of California Davis. She is widely credited with developing the first modern-day science-based study of children's eyewitness memory, as well as the use of children's victims as witnesses in legal settings. Professor Goodman published widely and has won several grants, and has been awarded numerous internationally and national awards. She has advised numerous government institutions and authorities throughout the world regarding policies and studies pertaining to the treatment of child victims within the justice system. She serves as a consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center in Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She is a member of several professional associations including the Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology Law Society Psychological Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56). She also is a founding part of the American Professional Society for the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Professor Goodman was the head of the American Psychological Association's three divisions which included Division American Psychology Law Society, Division Developmental Psychology and Division Society for Child and Family policy and practice.
